A restaurant more than a year and a half in the making is getting close to opening in downtown Prosper.
1902, a steakhouse at 209 W. Broadway St., lists its opening as early October 2026 on its website and is already taking reservations through Toast. The restaurant has not posted an exact first night on its site.
The website promotes dinner, weekend brunch, happy hour, a hidden speakeasy and a rooftop lounge.
Steaks with a Texas-Mexican lean
The website describes a menu built around steaks along with dishes that draw on Texas and Mexican cooking, plus cocktails and wine. The name comes from the year Prosper was founded, the restaurant says, and it bills itself as independent and locally owned.
The project was announced in early 2025 by Alora Hospitality Group, a partnership between developer Donny Churchman of Nack Development and hospitality entrepreneur Jason Young, CultureMap Dallas reported at the time. That report said the group bought the building in January 2025 and planned about $1 million in renovations, including an elevator to reach the upstairs speakeasy and its rooftop bar.
The building, finished in 2023, was originally built by the owners of Prosper Wine House in partnership with the Prosper Economic Development Corporation.
