A significant retail expansion is taking place along Augusta Highway in Lexington County, driven by a new Target-anchored shopping center and a wave of additional commercial developments. The area near Lexington High School is attracting both national chains and regional businesses as the local population continues to grow.
The Victory Village shopping center is being developed on a roughly 27-acre site in the 2500 block of Augusta Highway. Dallas-based 413 Solutions is leading the project, which is scheduled to open in the fall of 2026. Emmitt Smith, the former NFL running back and all-time leading rusher, serves as chairman of 413 Solutions.
In a news release, Smith described Lexington as an "incredible opportunity for growth."
Victory Village will feature more than 230,000 square feet of retail space. According to NAI Columbia, several of these spaces are already under contract or in letter-of-intent negotiations. The shopping center will include locations for Dave’s Hot Chicken and Chipotle Mexican Grill, which are planned for the southeast corner near Augusta Highway.
Academy Sports + Outdoors is also slated for the Victory Village site at 2568 Augusta Hwy, as noted in a Lexington County Planning Commission agenda packet from February 19.
Other new businesses are already operating or under construction along the corridor. Parker’s Kitchen, a convenience store chain with over 100 locations across South Carolina and Georgia, is building a site at 2509 Augusta Highway next to a Sonic Drive-In, with land clearing currently underway. Taco Bell recently opened a new restaurant at 2464 Augusta Highway, directly across from Lexington High School.
This location offers drive-thru and dine-in service from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily.
