McKinney is set to welcome LITEON Technology, a Taiwanese electronics manufacturer, which will establish a new facility dedicated to AI power and infrastructure. This project, announced by Gov. Greg Abbott, involves an investment of nearly $919 million and is expected to generate over 600 jobs throughout its duration.

The initial phase of the project entails a capital investment of $307 million and the creation of approximately 500 jobs. The facility will cover more than 650,000 square feet and will serve as LITEON's North American headquarters, focusing on the design and production of power systems essential for AI data centers.

The state is supporting this initiative with a $3.5 million grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund and a $100,000 bonus aimed at creating veteran jobs.

Founded in 1975, LITEON has a rich history as a pioneer in LED technology and power management. The company's recent shift toward AI-related business has led to significant growth, with projections indicating that AI will account for 40 percent of its revenue this year.

The new McKinney facility will be strategically located within the fastest-growing data-center market in the U.S., allowing for the efficient design and production of power systems needed by local data centers.

This development marks a significant corporate investment for McKinney, establishing a key employer in the advanced manufacturing sector and contributing to the city's ongoing economic expansion. Details regarding construction and hiring timelines are yet to be disclosed.

McKinney is about 11 miles east of Prosper.
