The Indian American community in Frisco, located approximately 31 miles south of Prosper, is experiencing a troubling rise in anti-Indian sentiment. The Karya Siddhi Hanuman Temple, which opened in 2008 and serves up to 1,600 worshippers, has become a focal point for both support and opposition. Protests against the temple have emerged, featuring demonstrators with signs and megaphones.

In response, local supporters have organized counterprotests, emphasizing the community's resilience.

Despite these displays of solidarity, the overall atmosphere in Frisco has shifted. The city, home to around 237,000 residents, one-third of whom are Asian—primarily Indian Americans—has seen a notable increase in online attacks targeting this demographic. Controversial remarks made by mayoral candidate Rod Vilhauer, which compared immigrants to pests, have further fueled tensions.

Indian Americans have been part of Texas since the late 1960s, often thriving in various industries. However, incidents of racism, such as a recent assault on an Indian American woman in Plano, highlight the growing challenges faced by this community. As Frisco evolves into a significant economic hub, the changing dynamics reflect broader trends of nativism and discrimination against Indian Americans across the state.
