Baylor will begin Big 12 competition against Colorado on Sept. 26 with starting quarterback DJ Lagway back in the lineup and five Bears listed as unavailable. Both teams enter the game with 2-1 records.

Lagway is returning after an ankle injury suffered in Baylor’s season opener. Coach Dave Aranda said earlier in the week that the medical staff had cleared Lagway to play. Nate Bennett, who started the past two games, is expected to move back to the backup role.

Bennett completed 75% of his passes in those starts for 567 yards, six touchdowns and two interceptions. He also added 15 rushing yards and two scores.

Baylor will also have wide receiver Jadon Porter, defensive back Devin Turner and defensive tackle Hosea Wheeler available. Porter and Turner had been listed as probable, while Wheeler was initially considered questionable before being upgraded later in the week.

The unavailable Baylor players are safety Jacob Redding, cornerback Jamarion Richardson, defensive lineman Devonte Tezino, offensive lineman Cayden Tone and wide receiver Ashton Jones.

Colorado will be without wide receiver Danny Scudero, cornerback Preston Ashley, linebacker Colby Johnson, defensive lineman Vili Taufatofua, offensive lineman Demetrius Hunter and tight end Charlie Williams. Scudero and Williams have combined for 94 yards from scrimmage and one touchdown this season. Colorado offensive lineman Xavier Payne is listed as a game-time decision.

The game is scheduled for 11 a.m. Central time at McLane Stadium in Waco and will air on ESPN2. Lowell Galindo and Kirk Morrison are slated to provide the broadcast commentary. Additional information from pregame warmups was not yet clear in the supplied report.
