During the first set of the Texas Longhorns volleyball match against TCU at the Players Era Showcase, outside hitter Abby Vander Wal left the game due to a knee injury. The incident occurred when she fell to the ground during a scramble on the left side of the court and remained down while clutching her knee.

Vander Wal was assisted off the court by training staff as she was unable to put weight on her leg. She did not return for the remainder of the set, which the Longhorns ultimately won after sweeping TCU. Prior to her exit, Vander Wal contributed two kills and her topspin serve helped the team gain momentum during the early part of the match.

The extent of Vander Wal's injury is not yet clear, and this situation is being monitored as it could impact the Longhorns' performance moving forward. This is a developing story.
