Jacob Fields, a former safety for TCU, has been charged with aggravated assault by the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office. The charge was filed on September 23, stemming from an incident on August 13 in a locker room where Fields allegedly caused serious bodily injury to teammate Dozie Ezukanma.

The complaint states that Fields struck Ezukanma in the head and may have kicked him while he was down. As a result of the altercation, Ezukanma suffered a concussion and was hospitalized for three days due to a brain bleed. Witnesses reported that Fields hit Ezukanma from behind, leading to his loss of consciousness.

Following the incident, Fields surrendered to authorities on August 30 and was dismissed from the TCU football team on August 18. He later reached out to Ezukanma via text to apologize for his actions. The incident reportedly arose from Fields' frustration over his practice performance. Fields' agent released a statement advocating for him, highlighting the importance of self-defense.
