Angela Stanford is returning to TCU in a coaching role after setting program marks as a player. The university has hired her as an assistant coach for its women's golf team. Stanford is from Saginaw, which is about 15 miles from Fort Worth.
Stanford played for the Horned Frogs from 1996 through 2000. She earned All-American honors four times, a total no other TCU player has matched, and her 10 victories remain the program record.
Her hiring followed a recent stint as the U.S. captain at the Solheim Cup. TCU head coach Ravaioli-Larkin said the program was very pleased to bring Stanford back and identified her as the team's third coach. Ravaioli-Larkin also pointed to Stanford's major-championship background and her work leading the U.S. Solheim Cup team. The university did not provide additional information about Stanford's duties.
