DJ Lagway is set to make his debut for Baylor in a neutral-site game against Auburn in Atlanta during Week 1 of the college football season. This matchup comes after both teams finished the previous season with 5-7 records, with Baylor losing 31-24 to Houston and Auburn falling 27-20 to Alabama.
In 2025, Baylor's offense was led by quarterback Sawyer Robertson, who passed for 3,681 yards, achieving 31 touchdowns against 12 interceptions, while completing 60.3% of his passes. Running back Bryson Washington contributed significantly with 788 rushing yards and six touchdowns on 154 carries. Wide receiver Josh Cameron was a key target, recording 872 yards on 69 receptions and scoring nine touchdowns.
On the other side, Auburn's Jackson Arnold threw for 1,309 yards, completing six touchdowns and two interceptions with a 63.3% completion rate. Jeremiah Cobb was their leading rusher, accumulating 969 yards and five touchdowns on 175 carries, while Cam Coleman led the receiving corps with 708 yards on 56 catches and five touchdowns.
