Baylor has extended a basketball scholarship offer to Bear Acy, a five-star recruit for the 2029 class who is ranked No. 7 nationally. Acy is listed at 6 feet, 7 inches and is the son of former Baylor forward Quincy Acy.

Quincy Acy played for Baylor from 2008 through 2012 and earned a spot on the All-Big 12 Defensive Team for the 2011-12 season. His play was characterized by rebounding, finishing near the basket and defensive contributions, including blocked shots.

Bear Acy is described as having the size and versatility to contribute on both ends of the court. His length can help him disrupt passing lanes, deflect passes and contest shots, while his height gives him the ability to defend and attack around the basket.

The offer gives Baylor an opportunity to pursue a second generation of the Acy family. Baylor coach Scott Drew coached Quincy Acy during all four of his seasons with the program. Bear Acy's eventual college decision is not yet clear, and the report notes that Baylor's offer may not be the only one he receives.

Signing Acy would add another highly ranked player to Baylor's projected 2029 recruiting class, according to the report.
