Baylor quarterback DJ Lagway is expected to sit out the team’s game against Louisiana Tech, but a report says he could be back for the Big 12 opener against Colorado on Sept. 26.

Pete Nakos of On3 Sports reported that Lagway is on track to return for the Colorado matchup. The report said sources do not expect him to play this weekend but anticipate his availability the following week.

Lagway injured his ankle during Baylor’s 17-16 loss to Auburn in the season opener. He also missed the Bears’ next game, a 44-3 victory over Prairie View.

The quarterback’s status had been listed as day to day, and a source previously told On3 that Lagway had been attempting to play through the injury. His exact return remains not yet clear.
