The Dallas Cowboys have lost a veteran offensive lineman from their practice squad, with the Green Bay Packers signing guard Laken Tomlinson, according to NFL Network reporters Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo.
Tomlinson, 34, joined Dallas earlier this month after All-Pro guard Tyler Smith was placed on injured reserve following thumb surgery. Tomlinson did not play in either of the Cowboys' first two games.
The 2015 first-round selection by Detroit has played 173 NFL games across 11 seasons, starting 162 of them. He earned a Pro Bowl selection with the San Francisco 49ers in 2021 and has also played for the New York Jets, Seattle Seahawks and Houston Texans. He appeared in 10 games for Houston in 2025, allowing three sacks and 11 pressures, according to the source.
Dallas now has two offensive linemen remaining on its practice squad. Marcellus Johnson is listed as a tackle and has not played in an NFL game, while Wanya Morris has taken snaps only at left and right tackle during his three-year career. Neither player has experience at guard, according to the report.
The Cowboys could be eligible to bring Smith back from injured reserve after Week 4. Dallas is scheduled to visit Green Bay in Week 6, which could put Tomlinson against his former team.
