Wide receiver Ryan Flournoy will not be playing in the Dallas Cowboys' preseason opener against the Seattle Seahawks. According to Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Flournoy is not suited up for the game.
Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer indicated earlier this month that the team's starters are not expected to participate in any preseason games. Despite not playing in the opener, Flournoy is anticipated to have ample chances to develop his rapport with quarterback Dak Prescott during training camp practices.
Flournoy is expected to secure the No. 3 receiver position on the team. However, his opportunities on the field may be limited due to the presence of established wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens ahead of him in the depth chart. Further details regarding Flournoy's role and performance during the preseason remain unclear.
