Dallas Cowboys safety P.J. Locke suffered a foot injury during the team’s game against the Washington Commanders and was assisted from the field during Washington’s opening possession. The injury came in Locke’s second game with Dallas.
A FOX replay showed Locke moving toward a tackle before appearing to limp without making contact with another player, according to Sports Illustrated. Two members of the Cowboys’ training staff helped him off the field, and he later went to the locker room under his own power, according to reports cited by the publication.
Dallas had already ruled starting safety Malik Hooker out for the game because of a forearm injury. Locke’s status beyond the game was not yet clear.
Locke joined the Cowboys this offseason on a one-year contract worth $4 million after spending his first six NFL seasons with the Denver Broncos. He recorded two tackles in Dallas’ Week 1 loss to the New York Giants.
