The Houston Texans experienced a strong joint practice against the Las Vegas Raiders, but injuries to two wide receivers, Jayden Higgins and Jared Wayne, have raised concerns. Higgins was reported to be in pain during practice and did not return after walking off the field under his own power.

His injury occurred during the fourth team period, while Wayne's status remains unclear as no additional details have emerged regarding his condition.

Head coach DeMeco Ryans addressed the media after practice, stating that there was no update on Higgins, who is being evaluated for a leg injury. Quarterback C.J. Stroud expressed his support for Higgins, noting that he has been performing well in camp and wishing him a speedy recovery.

The Texans' wide receiver group has faced challenges this offseason, with injuries to Jaylin Noel and Tank Dell earlier in training camp. However, Noel returned to practice on the same day as the joint session with the Raiders, participating in individual drills. In contrast, Dell was absent, which follows comments from Ryans about Dell's individual plan for returning to practice and the upcoming preseason game.

The Texans are preparing for their next preseason game against the Buffalo Bills, and with the current state of the wide receiver position, decisions regarding the roster may need to be made soon. Further updates on Higgins and Wayne are anticipated as the team continues to evaluate their injuries.
