The Dallas Cowboys will be without four defensive players for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens in Brazil. Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, safeties P.J. Locke and Malik Hooker, and cornerback Cobie Durant were ruled out after missing the team’s practices and not traveling for the game.
The absences include three defensive starters, as well as Locke, who serves as the team’s third safety and a primary reserve. Dallas is preparing to face a Baltimore offense led by quarterback Lamar Jackson, a two-time NFL MVP, and running back Derrick Henry, a former Offensive Player of the Year.
The defensive losses come after Dallas ranked among the NFL’s bottom three teams in total defense in 2025. Through the first two games of this season, the Cowboys rank 29th among the league’s 32 teams in that category.
Executive vice president Stephen Jones said on 105.3 The Fan that Dallas has not ruled out Overshown and Hooker for the Cowboys’ Week 4 game at the Houston Texans. Neither player has been cleared, and their availability for that matchup remains uncertain.
Overshown is the defense’s green-dot player, responsible for relaying signals, while Hooker is a former first-round selection. Hooker is recovering from a fractured forearm sustained against the New York Giants in the season opener, and Overshown is dealing with a hamstring strain from that game. Both missed Dallas’ Week 2 victory over Washington.
