TCU’s 2027 recruiting class now includes 19 players after North Crowley offensive tackle Gabriel Brooks announced Sept. 17 on social media that he had changed his commitment from Stephen F. Austin. Brooks said conversations with his family and personal prayer guided the decision, which he also characterized as a way to stay near home.
Brooks, listed at 6 feet 5 inches and 265 pounds, had mostly been recruited by Football Championship Subdivision schools. His offers included Stephen F. Austin and Southern University. TCU represents his first Football Bowl Subdivision offer, and Brooks selected the chance to compete in a Power Four conference with the Horned Frogs.
North Crowley began the season 3-0 with victories over Aledo, Southlake Carroll and Summer Creek, which is from the Houston area. The Panthers are set to visit Duncanville at 7 p.m. Friday. TCU’s class ranks 54th nationally and eighth in the Big 12, based on a report from sports.yahoo.com.
