The Houston Texans worked out linebacker Kenneth Murray on Tuesday as the team looks for depth after Henry To'oTo'o suffered a shoulder injury. Murray did not sign a contract during the visit, according to sports.yahoo.com.
To'oTo'o was placed on injured reserve and is expected to miss several months. Houston also promoted Jamal Hill from its practice squad. Murray could potentially provide additional depth and be elevated for game days, but the Texans have not announced a signing.
Murray, 27, was a first-round selection by the Los Angeles Chargers in 2020 after earning All-American honors at Oklahoma. He joined the Tennessee Titans in 2024 and led that team in tackles.
The Dallas Cowboys acquired Murray from Tennessee for two draft picks during the offseason before last season. He started all 16 games for Dallas and recorded 81 tackles, four tackles for loss, two pass breakups, one sack and one fumble recovery. The report also said Murray had worked out for the Miami Dolphins and New York Giants since the start of the offseason.
Houston is scheduled to play the Cincinnati Bengals Sunday at Reliant Stadium. The game is set for noon on CBS.
