Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins has not practiced Thursday or Friday after sustaining a hamstring injury earlier in the week, leaving his availability for the Week 2 matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals uncertain.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport said Friday on “The Pat McAfee Show” that Collins’ absence from both practices was a negative sign for his chances of playing Sunday. Rapoport also said the injury is not believed to be serious, but described Collins’ status for the game as unfavorable.
Collins was injured during Wednesday’s practice, and NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that he was uncertain to play against Cincinnati. Schefter also reported that Collins met with Texans team doctors, who did not consider the injury serious.
The 27-year-old receiver opened the 2026 season with seven receptions for 75 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets in Houston’s 36-31 loss to the Buffalo Bills. He entered the season after recording more than 1,000 receiving yards in each of the previous three years.
Collins’ official Week 2 status had not been determined in the report. If he does not play, the next game mentioned for him is Houston’s matchup with the Indianapolis Colts on Sept. 27. Further details were not provided.
