Nico Collins' availability for the Houston Texans' Week 3 game against the Indianapolis Colts remains uncertain after he was not present for the portion of Wednesday's practice available to reporters. The Texans are scheduled to face the Colts after opening the season with an 0-2 record.

Collins was listed among several players who did not participate in that practice segment. Tight end Dalton Schultz, offensive linemen Trent Brown and Ed Ingram, and edge rusher Jadeveon Clowney were also absent, according to reports cited by SI.com.

Collins has been away from the Texans since sustaining a Grade 1 hamstring strain during preparation for the team's Week 2 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. The injury caused him to miss that game and Houston's previous three practice sessions. His availability for the Colts game will depend on whether he returns to practice later in the week.

Houston's receiving group had limited production without Collins against Cincinnati. No Texans wide receiver surpassed three receptions or 40 yards, while Schultz led the passing attack with 12 catches for 140 yards. Xavier Hutchinson, Kayshon Boutte and Jaylin Noel combined for seven receptions in that game.

If Collins cannot play, those three receivers would be among the players expected to take on larger roles, while offensive coordinator Nick Caley would prepare the game plan without Houston's leading receiver. SI.com reported that Collins could remain out until Week 4, when the Texans are scheduled to play the Dallas Cowboys, but his return timeline is not yet clear.
