Houston Texans right tackle Trent Brown returned to practice Thursday as the team prepared for its Week 3 divisional matchup with the Indianapolis Colts. Brown had missed the previous day’s practice because of wrist and knee injuries listed on the team’s injury report.
Wide receiver Nico Collins was not among the players returning to practice. His absence marked a second missed session this week and his fourth consecutive missed practice since he suffered a hamstring injury.
Brown has started both of Houston’s regular-season games at right tackle. He has recorded eight pressures, four penalties and one sack through two weeks, according to the source.
The Texans placed Braden Smith on injured reserve for the first four weeks of the season after a preseason foot injury. Blake Fisher and Nate Thomas are listed behind Brown at tackle on Houston’s 53-man roster.
It is not yet clear whether Collins will play against Indianapolis. If Brown remains available, he is expected to retain his starting position, according to the report.
