Nico Collins will not play when the Houston Texans host the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2, leaving the team to redistribute the workload of one of its leading offensive players. Sports Yahoo reported that Collins is dealing with a Grade 1 hamstring injury.
The injury happened during Wednesday's practice. Collins then missed Houston's final two practices of the week, and the Texans listed him as out on their final injury report. His availability for the team's next game against the Indianapolis Colts is still being determined.
Collins began the season with seven receptions for 75 yards and a touchdown in Houston's 36-31 loss to Buffalo. He has been among the Texans' most productive offensive players during the past three seasons.
Houston is expected to use several players in place of Collins against Cincinnati. Kayshon Boutte, Xavier Hutchinson and Jaylin Noel are among the receivers who could receive more opportunities. Boutte could have a larger role after joining the Texans late in the offseason.
