Baylor University football team has unveiled its first depth chart for the 2026 season as they prepare to face Auburn in their opening game. The depth chart, released on Monday, outlines the starting positions and backups for both the offense and defense.
On the offensive side, DJ Lagway is named the starting quarterback, with Nate Bennett, Edward Griffin, and Quinn Murphy listed as backups. Dawson Pendergrass is set to start at running back, supported by Caden Knighten and Michael Turner, along with freshmen Ryelan Morris and Jacorey Watson.
The wide receiver lineup features Louis Brown IV and either Dre'lon Miller or Jadon Porter as starters. Gavin Freeman will take on the slot wide receiver role, with Jayden McGowan as his backup. The tight end position will be led by Matthew Klopfenstein, with several backups including Tony Livingston and Parker Almanza.
On the defensive front, Kyler Jordan and Jordan Mack are co-starters at defensive end, while Devonte Tezino and Kamren Washington will start at defensive tackle. Hosea Wheeler and Jamaal Whyce Jr. will lead the nose tackle position. The linebacker positions include Travion Barnes as the MIKE linebacker and Kyland Reed as the WILL linebacker.
In the secondary, Devon Jordan and LeVar Thornton Jr. are set as the starting cornerbacks, with Colby McCalister or Tyler Turner at free safety. The strong safety position will feature Devin Turner or Jacob Redding.
