The Dallas Cowboys are making several defensive roster changes before their game against the Baltimore Ravens in Rio de Janeiro. P.J. Locke is headed to injured reserve with a foot injury, while linebacker Barron has been added to the 53-man roster and cornerback Reddy Steward has been elevated from the practice squad.
Locke was hurt in the Cowboys’ game against the Washington Commanders. The team initially did not place him on the four-week injured reserve list, but the latest update indicates he is expected to miss at least four more weeks. Safety Malik Hooker, who is recovering from a fractured forearm, is also set to miss another game.
With Locke unavailable, the Cowboys’ listed safety options include Jalen Thompson, Caleb Downs and Markquese Bell. Alijah Clark remains among the other safeties, and Steward can also contribute at the position after being elevated for the Ravens matchup.
Barron played in the previous game after receiving a game-day promotion from the practice squad. His move to the active roster provides additional linebacker depth with DeMarvion Overshown sidelined by a hamstring injury. Jaishawn Barham and Dee Winters were injured in the previous game but completed it, according to the team’s update.
Steward has previously handled significant playing time for Dallas, including work as a nickel cornerback and safety in 2025. His elevation follows Cobie Durant’s hamstring injury, which ruled the starting cornerback out of the Ravens game.
