Tigers Control Baton Rouge
No. 10 LSU Tigers (3-1) defeated No. 23 Texas A&M Aggies (2-2) 35-6 on Saturday at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge. The Tigers built an insurmountable lead during a dominant third quarter, capping a performance defined by offensive efficiency and defensive pressure.
With 102,321 fans in attendance, the home team never trailed, establishing a 14-3 halftime advantage before exploding for 21 points in the final two minutes of the second half.
Leavitt and Harris Connect
LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt orchestrated the attack, completing 17 of 23 passes for 312 yards and two touchdowns while throwing one interception. His chemistry with wide receiver Jackson Harris was a key factor; Harris caught six passes for 163 yards and two scores.
The duo connected for a 16-yard touchdown in the second quarter and a 57-yard strike in the third, both of which extended the Tigers' lead. Leavitt also found Landen Clark for a 4-yard run and a 2-yard touchdown, while Dilin Jones opened the scoring with a 1-yard run in the first quarter. Starzyk handled all extra point kicks successfully.
