Jake Nimmo’s two-run single in the sixth inning provided the critical margin of victory for the Texas Rangers, who edged the Atlanta Braves 7-6 on Saturday at Truist Park. The win improved the Rangers’ record to 50-48, while the Braves fell to 56-41.

Nimmo’s hit drove in two runs, shifting the momentum after the game had been tied at 5-5. The play extended the Rangers' lead to 7-5, a cushion the team would maintain despite a late Braves rally. Nimmo finished the day with three total runs batted in, anchoring an offensive effort that overcame a strong pitching performance from Atlanta’s bullpen.

Early Scoring and Home Runs

The game featured four home runs, with both teams trading power early. In the first inning, the Rangers took a 1-0 lead when Pederson homered to right field, measuring 419 feet. Atlanta responded in the second inning with a three-run burst.

The sixth inning proved decisive. Carter homered to right (356 feet), with Duran scoring, to tie the game at 5-5. Shortly after, Nimmo singled to center, driving in Langford and Pederson to put the Rangers ahead 7-5. This two-run blast was the final score of the game for Texas.

Atlanta attempted a comeback in the seventh inning. Dubón doubled to left field, and Harris II scored, making the final score 7-6. However, the Braves could not complete the rally.

Pitching Performances

MacKenzie Gore earned the win for Texas, pitching 5.2 innings. He allowed six hits and five earned runs while striking out seven batters. He was supported by a relief corps that included Robby Ahlstrom, Tyler Alexander, Jakob Junis, and Jacob Latz, who secured the save with 1.1 scoreless innings, striking out one batter.

For Atlanta, Owen Murphy started, giving up five hits and two earned runs in 2.7 innings. Tyler Kinley took the loss, allowing three earned runs in 0.1 innings. Other Braves pitchers included Dylan Dodd, JR Ritchie, Dylan Lee, Danny Young, Didier Fuentes, and Raisel Iglesias, who pitched a perfect inning to close the game.
