Bradford, Rangers pitchers keep Giants scoreless in 6-0 win

Bradford sets the tone

Cody Bradford’s final line set the tone: 4 1/3 innings, five hits, no earned runs, two walks and five strikeouts. Texas then carried that pitching edge through the bullpen, and the Rangers beat the San Francisco Giants 6-0 on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

Tyler Alexander followed with 1 2/3 innings, allowing no hits or walks and striking out three. He received the win, improving to 2-2. Robby Ahlstrom gave up one hit and struck out one in one inning. Chase Silseth allowed one hit and one walk with one strikeout in one inning, and Cole Winn allowed one hit in one inning.

Texas breaks it open in the third

The Rangers, batting in the bottom of the third as the home team, put together the game’s largest scoring stretch against Carson Whisenhunt. Nimmo singled to right to score Langford for a 1-0 lead. Foscue followed with a triple to left that brought in Nimmo and Burger, pushing the margin to 3-0.

Díaz then doubled to left, scoring Foscue and making it 4-0. The inning accounted for four of Texas’ six runs and included the run-scoring hits that built the Rangers’ lead.

Nimmo adds the only homer

Nimmo added the game’s only home run in the fifth inning, driving a ball to left that was listed at 350 feet and moving Texas ahead 5-0. The Rangers’ final run came in the eighth, when Lopez singled to center. Burger scored on the play, and Pederson moved to second, setting the final margin at 6-0.

Nimmo was involved in two Texas scoring plays, first with the third-inning single and later with the fifth-inning homer. Burger scored twice, once on Foscue’s triple and once on Lopez’s single.

Giants pitching lines and records

Whisenhunt took the loss, falling to 2-3 after allowing four earned runs on five hits in 3 1/3 innings. He walked three and struck out four. Carson Seymour allowed one earned run on two hits in 2 2/3 innings, with one walk and two strikeouts.

Jason Foley pitched one inning with no hits, no walks and one strikeout. Tristan Beck allowed one earned run on two hits and one walk in one inning, striking out one. The announced attendance was 26,098. Texas is 57-58, and San Francisco is 48-67.
