Braves Rout Rangers 15-1 Behind Sale's Dominant Performance

Sale's Commanding Start

Chris Sale established early control for the Atlanta Braves, delivering a masterful performance on the mound. Sale worked through seven innings without allowing a single run, scattering just two hits while striking out six batters and issuing no walks. His efficiency set the tone for Atlanta’s offensive explosion, securing his 10th win of the season and improving his record to 10-6.

Braves Offense Explodes

The Braves’ bats woke up in the second inning against Texas starter Cal Quantrill. After a hitless first frame, Atlanta capitalized on opportunities to take an early lead. Austin Riley drove in the first run with a single to left that scored Michael Smith, putting Atlanta ahead 1-0. Riley continued his pressure, scoring on an Austin Albies single to right, extending the advantage to 2-0.

The scoring intensified in the fourth inning. Matt Olson launched a 420-foot home run to right, making it 6-0. Before that, Josh Baldwin had already turned a double into a triple threat, homering 419 feet to center to load the bases and score two more runs, pushing the score to 5-0.

By the fifth inning, Atlanta had built an insurmountable lead. Jarred Kelenic doubled to right, scoring Smith, followed by Baldwin singling to center to bring Kelenic home. Rangers Offer Minimal Resistance

The Texas Rangers managed their only run in the eighth inning. Lopez singled to left to score Cauley, making the score 15-1. However, the Braves’ offense did not stop there. Riley followed with a 390-foot home run to left, and Mederos later singled to left, scoring two more runs to finalize the 15-1 tally.

Texas struggled to contain Atlanta’s lineup throughout the game. Quantrill took the loss after allowing six earned runs on 11 hits over four innings. He was joined in the bullpen by Emiliano Teodo, who gave up two earned runs, and Gavin Collyer, who surrendered four earned runs in one inning.

Kyle Higashioka also allowed three earned runs in his appearance. Ben Peoples pitched a scoreless frame for the Rangers.
