Anderson Secures First Victory
The Seattle Mariners defeated the Texas Rangers 3-2 on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at T-Mobile Park. Rookie pitcher Kade Anderson earned the win in his first decision, recording his first career victory. He pitched six innings, allowing six hits and one earned run while walking one batter and striking out five. Anderson improved his record to 1-1 with this performance.
Scoring Sequence
The Rangers took the lead early in the top of the second inning when Burger homered to center field. The Mariners tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the second inning. Ward singled to center, allowing Raleigh to score from first base.
The home team then took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. Young doubled to right field, driving in both Ward and Naylor to extend the advantage.
Late Rally and Closing
The Rangers managed to trim the deficit in the top of the eighth inning. Seager homered to left field, bringing the score to 3-2. The Rangers bullpen worked to preserve the lead through the final two innings.
