Prosper ISD's three varsity football games this week ended with one lopsided win and two losses, one of them by a single point.
Prosper 63, Rock Hill 12
Prosper High scored touchdowns on five of its first six drives Friday at Children's Health Stadium and beat Rock Hill 63-12, Star Local Media reported. The paper, which ranks Prosper No. 16 in Class 6A, noted the Eagles have held the upper hand in the city rivalry since it began in 2022; Friday was the fifth meeting.
The win puts Prosper at 5-1 and 2-1 in District 6-6A. MaxPreps reported the Eagles have won 16 of their last 19 games going back to last season, averaging 50.8 points over that stretch. It was their second 63-point game this fall. Rock Hill dropped to 3-3 with its second loss in a row.
Jesuit 50, Walnut Grove 49 (OT)
On Thursday at the same stadium, Walnut Grove lost for the first time this season when Jesuit converted a two-point pass in overtime, according to The Dallas Morning News. Walnut Grove had scored on a short run to open overtime and led 49-42, but Jesuit answered with a touchdown on its first play and went for the win.
The teams combined for 1,120 yards. Walnut Grove gained 629 of them, including 267 rushing yards from its tailback on 52 carries, and fell to 5-1 and 2-1 in district play. Jesuit improved to 4-2 and 3-0.
"We had our chances to win tonight, and we just couldn't make that one last play," Walnut Grove coach Tommy Allison told the paper.
