Four Prosper ISD police officers were recognized by the district's Board of Trustees at its Sept. 28 meeting for lifesaving actions they took in May.
The board honored Sgt. Gerald Smith and officers Monty Edge, Kyle Meyer and Kym Tingue, according to the district's meeting recap published Sept. 30. Police Chief Chad Vessels and Assistant Chief Jody Woolverton joined in the recognition. The district said the officers' quick thinking, courage and teamwork made a lifesaving difference, and that trustees thanked them for their professionalism.
The recap did not describe the May incident.
