Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator and front office officials have secured the services of veteran pass rusher Von Miller. The former All-Pro has agreed to a one-year contract with the team, marking a return to Texas for the player who is currently the active leader in career sacks in the National Football League.
Miller announced the move via social media, posting the phrase “Hereee Weee Gooo” on Instagram to confirm the signing. The 15th-year professional is a native of DeSoto, a community located approximately 25 minutes south of Dallas. He also attended college at Texas A&M, further cementing his ties to the region.
In the 2025 season, Miller played for the Washington Commanders, a rival in the NFC East division. During that campaign, he recorded 26 tackles and nine sacks across 17 games. His professional history includes stints with the Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams, and the Denver Broncos, the latter of which selected him with the second overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.
Miller has accumulated 138.5 career sacks, a figure that places him ahead of all other active players. This total ties him for 13th all-time with Hall of Famer DeMarcus Ware, who also played for both Dallas and Denver. Over 203 games, Miller has also tallied 607 tackles, 271 quarterback hits, and 27 forced fumbles.
His accolades include eight Pro Bowl selections and three First Team All-Pro honors.
