The Dallas Cowboys have restructured the contracts of players Jake Ferguson, DaRon Bland, and Kenny Clark as part of their efforts to create additional salary cap space ahead of the 2026 NFL season.
This move is part of a series of contractual adjustments made by the Cowboys since the offseason began. Other players, including Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, Tyler Smith, Terence Steele, and Malik Hooker, have also seen their contracts restructured or reworked.
DaRon Bland has signed a four-year, $92 million extension, ensuring his place with the team through the 2030 season. Jake Ferguson also secured a four-year, $52 million deal, keeping him in Dallas until 2030. Kenny Clark's contract has been restructured for the second time this offseason; his current agreement extends through the 2028 season.
The restructuring of these contracts provides the Cowboys with increased financial flexibility, allowing them more options in terms of personnel decisions. Team owner Jerry Jones has indicated that while he is not actively seeking to make a major acquisition, the team is prepared to act if the right opportunity arises.
"I'm even more excited today than I was when we started camp that our team is going to be one that if we can have some things go right for us, avoid some injury, we could really be something that we all want to be, and that's a team that's competing for the big game," Jones stated during training camp in Oxnard, California.
