Prosper, Texas, is located approximately 35 miles north of Fort Worth.
The Texas Christian University football program has finalized its non-conference slate for the 2028 season by adding a contest against Northwestern State. According to a contract secured via public records request, TCU will provide a $600,000 guarantee to the Louisiana-based team for the appearance.
The matchup is scheduled for Saturday, September 2, 2028, at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth. This event represents only the second time these two programs have faced each other on the gridiron. Their previous meeting took place in 2001, when Northwestern State defeated TCU with a score of 27-24 in overtime.
Northwestern State competes in the Football Championship Subdivision as part of the Southland Conference. The Demons are currently under head coach Blaine McCorkle and have begun their season with defeats to Louisiana Christian and Louisiana Tech. In addition to the TCU game, Northwestern State is scheduled to host Central Arkansas on September 16, 2028.
For its part, TCU will open the 2028 campaign at home against Louisiana on August 26 before traveling to Duke on September 9. While the Big 12 Conference has not yet released specific conference opponents, the Horned Frogs are projected to play five home games and four road games during the season.
