The Houston Texans will be without wide receiver Jayden Higgins for the entire 2026 season following a torn ACL sustained during a joint practice with the Las Vegas Raiders. This injury was reported by NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

Higgins, a second-year player and the 34th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, had a productive rookie season, recording 41 receptions for 525 yards and six touchdowns. His performance improved significantly after Tank Dell suffered a season-ending injury late in the 2024 season, which elevated Higgins' role in the Texans' offense.

During the 2025 season, Higgins became a key target for quarterback C.J. Stroud, particularly during a nine-game winning streak when his target share increased by 8.1 percentage points. He scored four of his six touchdowns in the latter part of the season and achieved his two highest yardage totals in Weeks 13 and 17.

With Higgins sidelined, the Texans are expected to rely on other receivers such as Xavier Hutchinson, Jaylin Noel, and Justin Watson to fill the gap. The team remains hopeful that Tank Dell, who is still recovering, may be able to contribute at some point during the season. Further details on Higgins' recovery timeline have not yet been provided.
