Texas A&M Aggies head coach Mike Elko has announced that wide receiver Madden Williams will be out for the remainder of the 2026 season following a lower-body injury sustained in a recent practice. Surgery will be necessary for Williams, who was not suited up for the season opener against Missouri State, joining safety Tawfiq Byard on the sidelines.
Williams' injury marks the third wide receiver loss for the Aggies before the season began. Earlier in fall camp, Jonah Wilson was removed from the roster after transferring from Houston, and just days prior to the opener, Jerome Myles was announced to be leaving the program for personal reasons. Myles, a former five-star recruit, had missed the entire 2025 season due to injury.
In light of Williams' absence, Texas A&M will depend on its leading wide receivers: Mario Craver, Isaiah Horton, and Ashton Bethel-Roman. This situation creates opportunities for other players on the roster, including true freshman Aaron Gregory, who made a notable impact in the opener, scoring a touchdown with two catches totaling 22 yards.
Kelshaun Johnson and TK Norman will also see increased chances for playing time, with Johnson recording three receptions for 25 yards in the game. The team is expected to finalize its wide receiver depth chart in the upcoming two games before facing LSU.
