Late Inning Surge Ends Slump

The Texas Rangers finally broke their five-game losing streak with a walk-off victory against the Los Angeles Angels. The final score was 4-1 in ten innings at Angel Stadium on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

Jonah Burger delivered the decisive blow in the bottom of the tenth inning. With runners on base, Burger singled to right field. The hit allowed Michael Langford and Corey Seager to cross the plate, giving Texas a 4-1 lead that held until the end of the game. This was the second consecutive extra-inning game where Texas scored in the tenth.

Los Angeles Angels took an early lead in the first inning when Mike Trout homered to center field, measuring 418 feet. The home run gave the Angels a 1-0 advantage that lasted until the fourth inning.

This single run made the score 2-1 for the Rangers before Burger’s two-run hit in the bottom half of the frame.

Pitching Performances

Peyton Gray earned the win for Texas, pitching one perfect inning with no hits or walks allowed while striking out one batter. Jacob Latz secured the save by pitching a scoreless tenth inning, though he did issue one walk. He recorded one strikeout in his appearance.

Rob Ahlstrom pitched 1.1 innings, allowing one hit and one strikeout. Tyler Alexander and Chase Silseth each pitched 0.2 innings without allowing an earned run. MacKenzie Gore started for Texas, throwing 5.1 innings with nine strikeouts but giving up four hits and two walks.

For Los Angeles, Reid Detmers pitched six innings, allowing one earned run on three hits while striking out six batters and walking four. Ben Joyce and Samy Natera Jr. each pitched a full inning without allowing a run. Luke Murphy took the loss after pitching 0.1 innings, allowing two earned runs on one hit and one walk.

Final Records

The win improved the Texas Rangers record to 60-59. The loss dropped the Los Angeles Angels to 45-74. The game drew an attendance of 23,880 fans to Angel Stadium in Anaheim.
