Alonso Powers Baltimore Offense
Pete Alonso delivered a standout performance for the Baltimore Orioles, hitting two home runs and driving in four runs to help secure a 10-5 victory over the Texas Rangers on Sunday at Globe Life Field. Alonso’s power display was a key component of the Orioles' offensive output, which totaled ten runs across the game.
Alonso’s first multi-homer game came in the second inning when he launched a 393-foot shot to left field, bringing in two runs. He added another long ball in the fourth inning, a 404-foot homer to left center that also accounted for two runs. His efforts contributed significantly to Baltimore's early lead and eventual win.
Scoring Breakdown
The Orioles jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning, with Pete Alonso scoring on an infield single by Beavers and a double by Taveras. The lead extended to 3-0 in the second inning when Corey Seager homered to center field.
Alonso’s two-run homer in the second inning made it 5-0, and his two-run blast in the fourth inning stretched the advantage to 7-3.
The Rangers managed to score three runs in the third inning when Brandon Nimmo hit a 434-foot home run to center field, scoring two additional runs. However, Baltimore’s offense continued to dominate, with Anthony Santander adding a two-run homer in the sixth inning and a walk in the ninth inning that scored another run.
