Runners who want the full race kit for Prosper's Veterans Day Honor Run have three weeks left to register.

The town's annual 10K, 5K and Fun Run is Saturday, Nov. 7, at Frontier Park, 1551 Frontier Parkway. The Parks & Recreation Department says anyone who signs up by Oct. 25 is guaranteed a race shirt and a finisher's medal. Later sign-ups are still accepted, but the shirt and medal are not promised.

Schedule and prices

The morning opens at 8 a.m., when Mayor David Bristol leads a brief ceremony in honor of veterans. According to the registration site, the 10K starts at 8:30 a.m., the 5K at 8:50 a.m. and the Fun Run at 9:15 a.m. The 10K course is the 5K loop run twice, and the start is in the Prosper ISD stadium parking lot.

A medal ceremony for top finishers follows the races.

Entry is $45 for the 10K or 5K and $25 for the Fun Run, plus sign-up fees, through 11:30 p.m. Nov. 6. Race-day registration costs $5 more.

Residents training through the town's Mayor's Fitness Challenge can have their registration fee waived, the town says.

Packet pickup runs from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, and from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Friday, Nov. 6, at the Parks & Recreation administrative offices, 409 E. First St. Packets will also be handed out the morning of the race.

Where the money goes

Proceeds go toward the Prosper Veterans Memorial, which race organizers say will be built at Frontier Park. The town refers questions about the memorial to the Prosper Rotary Club. The races are open to walkers, children, parents pushing strollers and people using wheelchairs.

Race questions go to Parks & Recreation at 972-569-1160.
