Reeves Elementary School, Stuber Elementary School and Hays Middle School have earned Model Professional Learning Community designations, Prosper ISD announced in its Sept. 30 recap of the Sept. 28 school board meeting.

The three campuses join the district’s existing group of Model PLC schools. The recognition focuses on how educators work together to improve learning, according to the district.

Prosper ISD said qualifying campuses must demonstrate at least three years of sustained use of professional learning community practices and evidence that student learning improved during that period.

October dates for families

The board recap also lists several upcoming changes to the school schedule. The first nine-week grading period ends Oct. 8. Students have no school Oct. 9, a professional learning day for staff, or during the Oct. 12–13 school holidays. The second nine-week period begins Oct. 14.

The next regular Board of Trustees meeting is scheduled for Oct. 19 at 7 p.m., according to the district.
