The Prosper ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously on Wednesday, Sept. 30, to name Dr. Greg Bradley the lone finalist for superintendent, choosing a former top administrator who left the district about 16 months ago.
Bradley was Prosper ISD's deputy superintendent until May 2025, when he became superintendent of Ennis ISD. If the board confirms him, he will be the district's 20th superintendent, leading nearly 35,000 students on 32 campuses, according to the district.
What happens next
Texas law requires a school board to wait 21 days after naming a lone finalist before taking final action. The district said trustees are expected to vote on Bradley's contract in October.
Until he starts, Acting Superintendent Bill McLaughlin remains in charge. The board named McLaughlin to the interim role in May after former Superintendent Holly Ferguson announced her retirement in March. Once Bradley takes over, McLaughlin will return to his job as deputy superintendent.
Board President Kelly Cavender credited McLaughlin with opening two new facilities on time and starting the school year smoothly.
Why the board chose him
The district's search firm, Impact Education Specialists, gathered community input through in-person listening sessions attended by 150 people and more than 2,000 online survey responses. According to the district, respondents asked for a leader who would bring a fresh perspective while staying committed to the district's traditions.
"When the Board began this search, we were looking for a leader who understands what makes Prosper ISD special," Cavender said in the district's announcement. "No one understands that better than Dr. Bradley."
Vice President Garrett Linker said Bradley's time running Ennis ISD gave him outside experience, and that the board reached out and asked him to return.
