The animated series "King of the Hill" has returned to Hulu with its 15th season, showcasing Richardson's influence on the fictional town of Arlen. All ten episodes were released on July 20. This marks the second season since the show was brought back in 2025, with Hulu already committing to a 17th season.
Co-creator Mike Judge has acknowledged that Richardson served as a model for Arlen, where he lived during the 1990s while developing the series. Although Arlen is a blend of various Dallas-area suburbs, it retains characteristics reminiscent of Richardson, including wide streets and backyard grills.
In this season, the connection to Richardson is even more pronounced, as the University of Texas at Dallas is featured prominently. The episodes include appearances by the campus mascot and the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering. Additionally, North Texas landmarks are highlighted, with scenes depicting Hank repairing Big Tex at the State Fair of Texas and a nod to Whataburger.
Hank and Peggy navigate retirement on Rainey Street, while their son Bobby, now an adult, operates a fusion restaurant in Dallas and aspires to join a reality cooking show. The voice cast returns, featuring Mike Judge, Kathy Najimy, and others, continuing the show's legacy with local ties.
