Prosper residents planning a National Night Out block party have until Friday, Oct. 2, to request a visit from public-safety personnel and town officials.

The town’s Police Department, Fire Rescue and officials plan to visit neighborhood gatherings from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6. A public send-off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at the Prosper Police Station, 801 Safety Way.

Hosts can use the town’s National Night Out request form. The form directs Artesia residents to contact the Elm Ridge Police Department instead.

The town also says a special permit application is required for parties that block a street, hire food trucks or provide an entertainment stage. Hosts should review that requirement while arranging their gathering.
