Two individuals are in custody and facing first-degree felony charges after eight people were hospitalized for medical distress at a private overnight graduation party in Prosper. The incident occurred early Saturday morning at a rental facility located in the 1600 block of Coit Road.

Prosper police responded to assist Prosper ISD police and the Prosper Fire Department shortly after 2 a.m. Paramedics from Prosper, Celina, and Frisco treated multiple attendees who were experiencing medical issues. Eight individuals were transported to local hospitals. Authorities have not yet disclosed the specific cause of the medical emergencies.

Kyle Muchineuta, 17, of Prosper, and Cesar Omana, 18, of Frisco, were charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance. Both suspects are currently in custody.

The event was a senior graduation celebration described by the school district as an overnight lock-in that is organized and funded by parents rather than the district. District officials stated the gathering was intended to be free of drugs and alcohol but ended early due to the incident.

In a message to parents, Prosper ISD confirmed that several young adults suffered medical emergencies requiring transport. The district noted that the town responded quickly and that all affected students are receiving appropriate medical care. Specific details about the nature of the injuries or the circumstances leading to the distress were not provided.

Organizers also addressed the situation on a Facebook page for the Graduation Celebration. A post acknowledged an unforeseen situation but emphasized that the majority of the evening had been positive. The statement reiterated that student safety and well-being remain the top priority for the event planners.
