All four football programs in Prosper ISD won their Week 1 games. Prosper High School defeated Rockwall 56-37, generating 549 yards of offense and scoring eight touchdowns. Senior quarterback Tyler Albert, junior running back Hudson Bowman, and senior receiver Marcus McCoy led the offensive effort.
Rock Hill High School beat Arlington Bowie 19-13, holding opponents to 13 points, a defensive standard the team maintained in all five of its wins last season. The Blue Hawks recorded four interceptions and one fumble recovery.
Walnut Grove High School defeated Mansfield Lake Ridge 49-28, outscoring the opponent 28-7 in the second half. The Wildcats accumulated 492 yards of offense, with senior quarterback Ashton Gosselin and senior running back Camryn King making their first varsity starts. Richland High School won an overtime game against Aubrey 56-49, totaling 494 yards.
Junior quarterback Brighton Jones and senior receiver Donovan Ross were key contributors, while sophomore Darwin Allen played an expanded role.
