Allen opened its 2026 football season with a 26-7 victory over nationally ranked Duncanville. The Eagles limited the Panthers to 163 total yards of offense, allowing only one touchdown. This defensive performance was notable given that Allen returned just seven starters from its previous state semifinal run, including only three defensive linemen.

Seniors Jacobie Wilkerson and Beckhem Palmer led a unit that recorded 13 tackles for loss and six sacks. The Eagles face a challenging preseason schedule, with upcoming matchups against DeSoto and Southlake Carroll.

All four football programs in Prosper ISD won their Week 1 games. Prosper High School defeated Rockwall 56-37, generating 549 yards of offense and scoring eight touchdowns. Senior quarterback Tyler Albert, junior running back Hudson Bowman, and senior receiver Marcus McCoy led the offensive effort.

Rock Hill High School beat Arlington Bowie 19-13, holding opponents to 13 points, a defensive standard the team maintained in all five of its wins last season. The Blue Hawks recorded four interceptions and one fumble recovery.

Walnut Grove High School defeated Mansfield Lake Ridge 49-28, outscoring the opponent 28-7 in the second half. The Wildcats accumulated 492 yards of offense, with senior quarterback Ashton Gosselin and senior running back Camryn King making their first varsity starts. Richland High School won an overtime game against Aubrey 56-49, totaling 494 yards.

Junior quarterback Brighton Jones and senior receiver Donovan Ross were key contributors, while sophomore Darwin Allen played an expanded role.

Little Elm and Frisco Independence both ended their winless 2025 seasons with victories. Little Elm defeated Arlington Lamar 31-10, securing its first win since October 2023. Junior quarterback Sash Suriya threw three passing touchdowns for 317 total yards, and the defense shut out the opponent in the second half. This marked the fewest points allowed by the Lobos in a game since 2018.

Independence defeated Roosevelt 49-20, generating 477 yards of offense. The Knights benefited from roster continuity after a season dominated by underclassmen. Siblings Kylan and Tristan W were highlighted in the source text, though further details regarding their specific contributions were not provided in the available excerpt.
