Prosper, Little Elm secure wins; other area scores reported

Prosper defeated Rockwall 56-37 while Little Elm ended a 22-game losing streak with a 31-10 victory over Arlington Lamar.

Prosper secured a 56-37 road victory against Rockwall on Friday, accumulating 549 total yards in the process. The Eagles established an early advantage by scoring 42 points during the first half at Wilkerson-Sanders Stadium.

Senior quarterback Tyler Albert led the offensive charge, throwing six touchdown passes in the opening half alone. He connected with senior Marcus McCoy for three scores, including back-to-back 35-yard receptions that initiated the scoring and a 28-yard catch that extended the lead to 42-31 at halftime.

Albert also rushed for a 4-yard touchdown and distributed additional scoring passes to sophomore Tommy Sherman on a 70-yard play and sophomore Chris Roberts on a 9-yard throw. Albert finished with 297 passing yards, while McCoy recorded five receptions for 110 yards.

Junior Hudson Bowman dominated the ground game with 160 rushing yards on 16 carries and added two second-half touchdowns. The win marked Prosper’s season opener against the Yellowjackets.

In other area action, Little Elm ended a 22-game losing streak by defeating Arlington Lamar 31-10. The Lobos trailed 10-10 midway through the second quarter before junior quarterback Sash Suriya threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to senior Jaylan Finnie with 1:55 remaining in the half.

Suriya added a 24-yard touchdown pass to junior Kash Alexander in the third quarter. Senior Tyson Paul sealed the win with a 3-yard rushing score early in the fourth quarter, marking Little Elm’s first victory under second-year head coach Keiston Alexander and its first since October 2023.

Suriya completed 231 passing yards and added 86 rushing yards, while the Lobos defense prevented any further scoring after halftime. Other local results included a 19-13 win for Prosper Rock Hill over Arlington Bowie, an overtime victory for Marcus over Justin Northwest, and a 52-24 win for Sachse against Jesuit.

Plano fell to Midland Lee 41-33 despite strong individual performances from juniors Kameryn and Kaedyn Brown. Detailed statistics for the remaining quick-hit games were not provided in the source material.
